Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN is encouraging students at
Texas A&M University’s College of Architecture to think about the future of healthcare. “During a recent conversation with Professor Rodney Hill, I mentioned that we would like to donate copies of Michael Porter & Elizabeth Olmstead Teisberg’s seminal work,
Redefining Health Care to students who were interested in healthcare facilities planning and design,” noted Bill Peel, Executive Vice President of Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN. A graduate of Texas A&M’s College of Architecture, Peel has served on the Dean’s Advisory Council since 2001.
When the book was first published in 2006, Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN purchased copies for our lead professionals. Redefining Health Care is a must read for all those interested in health care delivery. As noted on the Harvard Business School website, “Porter and Teisberg raise the health care systems debate to a substantially higher, and hopefully value-producing, level. For simply changing the language of the argument, we should be grateful." And, economist.com called Redefining Health Care “a profound and powerful critique of America’s health-care system.” Dr. Hill suggested donating the books to the College’s Center for Health Systems & Design. According to Peel, “the donation aligns with our corporate culture, as we are dedicated to the advancement of creative thinking in healthcare facilities planning with a constant focus on patient-centric care. We’re equally committed to investing in the future of young design professionals.”
