MIMA, a large physician group based in Melbourne, Florida, selected Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN as their real estate partner when seeking to consolidate 120 board certified physicians from multiple office locations into one highly functional, yet soothing medical facility. The resulting project, known as MIMA Gateway, a 200,000 square foot multi-specialty medical office building, is conveniently located in the heart of Melbourne, Florida. Open for business for approximately one year, MIMA Gateway serves nearly 2,000 patients each day.
Our tour begins with a look at the beautifully landscaped exterior which features plants native to the state of Florida and a calming water feature in the facility’s central courtyard. With this
virtual tour, you have access to areas not typically seen by the general public including the fully automated laboratory and large data center which houses patient electronic medical records (EMRs).
MIMA Gateway offers full outpatient diagnostic services and internal medicine practices ranging from Urology, GI, General Surgery, Vascular, Cardiology, Pulmonary, Neurology, Nephrology, Infusion Center, Pediatrics, Endocrinology, ENT, OB/GYN to a state-of-the-art 8,000 square foot Lab and onsite retail pharmacy and delicatessen. Imaging and diagnostic services available include X-Ray, IVP, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, PET/CT, CT & MRI.
MIMA Gateway is one of the only physicians’ office labs in the country with full automation and computerization and the first and only physicians’ office in the country to offer an in-house blood bank and support transfusion services for outpatients. The use of innovative technologies, including concrete tilt-wall technology, allowed the project to be designed and constructed in two seamless phases under a 16-month fast-track construction schedule and was completed ahead of schedule.
